Being raised in a small town on the coast of Maine, Dr. Joseph Gallagher, attended college in New Hampshire and then went on to pursue his Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston. He completed clinical rotations at the Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford Massachusetts, several clinic sites affiliated with the New England Eye Institute, and the White River Junction VAMC in Vermont. After graduation, he returned to Maine to join a large group surgical practice where he gained a wide array of clinical experience in a multi-specialty setting. Dr. Gallagher then made the decision to come back to the Upper Valley in 2007 to take a position at the White River Junction VAMC as a full time staff Optometrist. Dr. Gallagher has practiced in Hanover for nearly a decade.
